Position Title: Transportation Specialist                     Department: Life Enrichment

 Reports to: Director of FACETS                               FLSA Designation: non exempt

 ***This position will begin on or around May 15, 2018.

 POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible to enhance the overall Resident experience through the provision of exceptional

oversight and implementation of the FACETS program, providing the residents opportunities for

participation in transporting residents to grocery store, monthly outings and extended trips as

scheduled; assists in performing housekeeping duties on bus as required.  This is to be

handled in The Sterling Touch friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner,

resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction.  This position is under the general guidance

of the Director of FACETS, in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures,

practices and philosophy.

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

 

      Essential Functions:

 

  • Participate in Start Sterling! line up every day.
  • Greet the Residents, guests, fellow employees and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Drive van, bus or automobile on regular schedule to meet resident needs and in accordance with scheduled appointments and FACETS calendar of events.
  • Assist Director of FACETS or FACETS Coordinator in assisting residents on and off bus/van, tracking attendance and coordinating equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes etc.).
  • Load groceries and other purchased items into bus/van.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Clean and wash vehicle.
 

 

Due to resident expectations and both planned and unplanned events/occurrences, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business and service needs of the Community.

 

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Grand Living's standards, procedures and processes, including all government and industry regulations, for the safe and efficient operation of the Community. 

   

Supportive Functions:

 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the Community:

 

  • Perform other duties as requested, such as, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

 

  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to communicates with the residents and other employees.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Licenses or certificates:

Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.

 

Grooming:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as detailed in the Grand Living at Bridgewater Employee Handbook, Orientation and Training.
