Responsible for the provision of routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with Resident's personalized specific care plan as directed by your supervisor for Grand Living at Bridgewater. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch™ friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner, resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction. This position is under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness in accordance with Community's standards, processes, procedures, practices and philosophy.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in Start Sterling every shift.
  • Greet the Residents, guests, fellow employees and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide direct resident care as assigned and in accordance with Resident's personalized care plan to assist them with activities of daily living including dressing, eating, grooming, communicating, ambulation, toileting and personal hygiene.
  • Provide assistance with Resident's daily mobility needs, including but not limited to positioning and moving in and out of bed, chair, wheelchair as applicable as well as assisting them to prepare for scheduled transportation to medical appointments or scheduled outings.
  • Observe and report changes to the nurse noted in resident's health, such as reports of pain, changes in vitals, weight, etc.
  • Observe and assist Resident in maintaining a safe environment within their residence.
  • Participate in ongoing community provided training programs to ensure state, federal and/or company requirements are met.

 

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards as detailed in the Grand Living at Bridgewater Employee Handbook and as may be established by Grand Living from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. 


Due to resident expectations and both planned and unplanned events/occurrences, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business and service needs of the Community.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Grand Living's standards, procedures and processes, including all government and industry regulations, for the safe and efficient operation of the Community. 

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the Community:

  • Take responsibility for uncompromising levels of cleanliness and creating a safe and accident-free environment in accordance with the protocols and the principles of Grand Living at Bridgewater.
  • Supplement other caregivers/certified nursing assistants Resident assignments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.

 

SPECIFIC POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to provide assistance with ADLs in accordance with each assigned resident's personalized care plan, observe and provide medication assistance to resident, react and communicate during emergencies, and communicate with other employees, supervisors, residents and guests.
  • Ability to display compassion while working with the Residents of the Community including those who are ill, elderly, emotionally upset, and disabled.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and interact with residents, family members, guests, and fellow staff members in a courteous and professional way.
  • Ability to practice teamwork and assist in areas outside of primary duties when required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma

Experience: 1-2 years of experience working with Seniors preferred but not required
